i recently got what i thought was a 1909 british half sovereign and did a little research on it because i saw that it said Eduardus instead of Edwardvs which was on the half sovereigns after days of research i cam across a brazilian webpage that had the exact sam coin that i had and with a little more research i figured out that it was like a token or a "toy coin" maid by a German toy company, i was wondering if anyone had anymore information about it and about a relative value.:dead-horse:
That is pretty interesting. It's almost like a counterfiet it seems to me... You might get a better response in one of the closer related forums than "U.S. Coins" though. ???
Have not seen this befor, i will show it to someone who may know what it is. i have seen gold coins like this, copied in 24ct gold not in 22ct gold like the real ones. this is not one of them.
Probably play money, or maybe something that could be used for bracelets. If this was an earlier piece, I would have added that this could have been a Rechenpfennig (counting token) from companies such as Lauer. But they stopped making such tokens some time in the 19th century. Christian
I show the picture to the german collector and he don,t think it is german, he thinks it maybe made for german by the royal mint.
