It's gorgeous! I am no expert on these, so what I think is 'wear' might just be softness to the strike, but my novice opinion would be: Technically it's a very high XF, but consideration for the age and relative rarity gets it a bump well into AU territory. AU 55
ding ding ding !!! We have a winner ! Yes, it's B-9 Apostrophe "S" (so named for the big die break after S2 (second "S" in STATES). NGC AU50. One reason I posted this coin is to illustrate the danger in going by the TPG grade. Recently, I've seen some AU55s with MUCH less eye appeal - much less luster, less pleasing color and surfaces. One could pay more, get a higher grade, but get a less pleasing coin. Don't rely on the TPG number; think for yourself. Technical grade is important, but eye appeal is the trump card.
