hi, im not a collector now but i used to be when i was a boy. I came across this note about 25 years ago, it was given to me by a freind of my dad. The date on the note is 1898 and it looks russian to me, I also think it might be worth a few quid? please help... there are more pictures if you's need them. keothsafc.
yep thats 1 russian rubal... i have no clue whats worth but if i were you I would do a good research online if not go to a big book shop (B&N) and take a look at the world money .... I think its worth a shot ... good luck
I'm afraid that it might not be worth a lot, in fact seen often on ebay in lots. Maybe 30 cents to a dollar? I don't see anything "rare" with that note, including the signature variety and serial number. I think B&N Obelix means there is Barney and Nobles, a large bookstore.
Welcome to CoinTalk Keith. Your local public library may have the Standard Catalog of World Currency, commonly referred to as "Pick", which has pictures of notes from all over the world, along with valuations which are more or less on target.
One of the signatures on the note is Shipov, and these were printed in huge numbers up until approximately 1918 or so. Unfortunately this coupled with the condition of the note makes it worth about 10-15p. Even a brand new note would only be worth about a £1.
