in yesterday's mail, I received the last 4 coins I needed for my JFK halves set (specifically, circulation copper-nickel)

nothing like the look of full Whitman folders. :)

Most of what I have here is lightly circulated, some AU/BU.

I got the 1987P for $5, and got the 1987D in trade for a 40% half (about $5 melt value). The 1978's were taken out of a mint set. The others were either found in circulation or bought for around face+postage.

The 1987P and 3 others were from another CT member; a different CT member had provided me with the 2008-2011 coins. (the 1987D trade was with someone on another forum)

    my other JFK's:
silver except for 1970D, and several extras of each
    1990 base metal proof
    2 2005 silver proofs (1 in original packaging, 1 in 2x2)
    another 2000 P & D, sorted with other 2000 coins rather than other JFK's
    gold-plated Bicentennial (cool circulation find)

Congrats, a very cool set that can still be had for close to face if you are patient.

I ended up going with the proofs and silver proofs as well, they were a little more pricey, but I started before silver had its big runup a year ago, and when you get all the business strikes, the SMS coins and the proofs/silver proofs lined up in a Dansco, it really looks impressive. And just think, you're already over half way there! :thumb:

Congrats! That set isn't as easy to put together as many think.

hopefully I'll get around to images soon.

I had some silver before the runup (including at least 1 of each JFK date/mintmark), but I bought a lot during the runup, including the 2 2005 silver proof sets and many extra 1964-1969's.

yeah, I was lucky to come across various people that had the 1987's and the post-2002's.

    some near-complete sets

missing a few recent Jefferson nickels which likely could be found if I got back into roll-searching.
As with the JFKs, I found most of them myself and bought the rest (war nickel silver lot, and circulated examples of the key nickel-copper dates for a few bucks each)

my copper-nickel FDR dime set is complete except for the low-mintage 2009's.

would like to find 1973 (P and D) Eisenhower dollars : mint-set-only, like the 1987 JFK's. would also like Type I Bicentennials

have all state quarters from Philadelphia and 46 from Denver (missing Arizona, Idaho, Minnesota and Iowa)

Lincoln cents: missing lots of Wheats, but have all Memorials except for 1982's (been meaning to buy a scale sensitive enough to sort 1982's)

as for Kennedy's, interested in a 1970D and more silver proof sets (edit: when I have the $ to focus on collection expansion)
