is this a french coin???

    in the uk many of the aluminium versions are found in 10p boxes, the one that is worth the most is the aluminium/bronze version which sells for £5 upwards depending on the grade, there is also a cupro nickel version of this coin which sells for around £2

    Zut alors! Yes, a Frenchie coin from the 4th republic (1946-1958); they changed to the 5th republic in 1958, and revalued the coinage, so the 5 Franc coin became a 5 centime coin (I.e., move the decimal point 2 places to the left). Yours is a 5FF coin, which would then be revalued to 0.05FF.
