Looking for some advice on what this coin might be and possible value. I found it while digging through my coin jar. It appears very black and the blackness does not rub off with my finger. The edge is also the same. Thanks in advance.

Scans, eh? Ugh. How's the luster?

    It won't have any.

As for what caused it ? Environmental damage would be my guess.

My initial reaction as well. Looks too black.

I agree, it seems way too black compared to the others that I have seen. The scans are fairly accurate in that there isn't really much luster to them... more of a flat black I am afraid.

I saw one Black Beauty on YouTube today and it wasn't black. It was shiny and beautiful. I don't understand.
