So years ago when I was around 13 years old I started to write my name and phone number on the back of lots of silver certificates. Now i'm 68 years old and never saw one come back to me. Something like an early Wheres George type thing. So If anyone can find an old silver certificate with my name and phone number on it I surely would like to know. Dean
-_- i did that too... but i'm 14 and i started when i was 14. and i got one about a month ago. LOL but i haven't seen any of yours, i'll look though!
@Dean: Most people only take notice of the front of notes and will not notice something written on the back sides. Also, writing on the notes pretty much increased the chance that a teller would pull the note from circulation or a collector would ignore the notes that were "damaged" by the markings. Kind of a bummer you never even got one curious phone call. I recall doing a balloon release with a name card attached to a string that asked any finder to contact me with the location of the find. That was many years ago when I was in grade school and no one has ever contacted me either. But you never know, bottles floating in the ocean turn up 50+ years later and make news now and then. With the internet, perhaps you should Google "silver certificate" and "your name, your phone number" to see what turns up... there could be someone out there inquiring about the markings...
