error penny? Found one missing the 1 in 1926.

    It just says 926 for the date, and is in decent condition. Worth anything? I'll get pics as soon as I can.

    We can't tell you much without a good photo (but you already knew that). It could be a grease-filled die. It could be PMD. But we will just have to wait for you to post a good photo.

    Is there a scanner that I can like pickup at walmart that will get good photos?

    Grease filled die or damage. The dates are part of the master die or hub, so they can't just accidentally leave one off.

    If it is 926 BC, it is a very rare issue with a mintage of just 500, but if it is 926 AD, it is very common and worth only 1c.

    I have many wheats from the 30's and such that exhibit the same thing. I believe mine are due to just normal wear.
