I would ask if he got email confirmations for both. According to the website the same thing happened to me, but I only had one confirmation. I called the mint and they said one was an error and would be removed from the system overnight. Email confirmations are what are needed to say you have an order it appears.

    Hi Ken
:smile "we all had a fair chance at getting one.....given the rules."

"given the rules" we all had a chance at getting five sets per household. ;)

...however, I just went in for two sets.

I'm really hoping I got one. These sets are out of my price range...but it is the kind of thing that my parents like to give me as a Christmas gift. So, I I sent them the website and told them that is what I wanted and it would sell out within a few hours of release...so hopefully they ordered me one. But, I won't know for a couple months. :(

Hi guys, I ordered one set and felt lucky to get the order placed. I had a annual company all employee function yesterday. On my EVO I was able to place the order at around one pm after 45 minutes of reloading pages. I missed out on the 06 set so I feel lucky to get this set. I also agree with the 1 set idea. For those that get any, congrats. For those that get more than 5, you are going to make a nice profit. Only the mint is to blame for how the game is played. I think my tag line applies for those that tried and were not successful. I feel sorry that you missed out but you should have seen it coming. I would have ordered a 2nd set in the evening but knew the chances later would be very slim. It is what it is.

Well said......we at CT,CU etc represent a small percentage of total orders taken.
These were gonna be hot and we all knew it. Blame the Mint if you want to on the 5 per and you are probably right. Blame the big time dealers that buy hundreds of sets and when you combine the two its a disaster for collectors...jmo

Illini, you did nothing wrong, nothing unethical. I can't imagine you ever would.

ebay bid result with one set for $1,530.00 and another for $1,500.00. that's amazing.

What is really strange to me is that there are several "Buy It Now" auctions for less than $900. I would Not be very optimistic about getting paid $1,500 +, since so many other auctions are closing for nearly half that price.

Most people would risk one negative feedback review in order to save $600+...wouldn't you?

my view is that it might be some dealer or rich person bought a lot and try to push the price higher. so that all their holdings will look better. money is not their problem. right?. on the other hand. the one which sold for those prices is lucky.

anyway. sooner or later. this set should go beyond $1,000.00. and can go over $2,000.00 within few months. that's my opinion.

SAEs interest me about as much as stamps, but that's just me, and clearly these are popular coins.

got 3. sold 1,now i have 2 at a very low cost to me.

    cost for 3 was $900
    sold 1 for -$860

I now have 2 sets that cost me $20 bucks each. (not counting fees,etc..)

ordering these from the mint was like getting free coins and a check.
