I found a 1988 P Dime with a counter clash. You can see the outline of Roosevelts Head on the Reverse. It is not listed as an error. What would something like this be
    worth? 1988 P Dime Counter Clash Head.jpg

Hi TTuck, I deleted your other thread on this coin, as rules do not allow duplicate threads, even in different forums

    No, Jello.

    It is a clashed die.

Not a counterclash, what ever that is.

    As for value?

    Not much, but on eBay?

    Priceless.

Ken Potters book Strike it Rich with pocket change 3rd edition lists this exact same error on page 181 and he calls it a counter clash, so I guess I will go by what he says. It is of a 1974 D Dime with the same outline of the head on the reverse like mine. He has a Estimated value of $200, but I can't find any info out for a 1988 P so I thought I would ask. Are there any error specialists on here cuz I can't seem to find any?

Counter clashes as defined by Potter and Neff consists of 2 actions, the first clash and then a second clash moving an image back to the original and a striking of the coin. Or a clash with a piece of metal and then that transferring the image back to the original die and striking. This coin appears to be a single clash as I can not see any off position positive images. IMO.

Please note that what is on that page is in error. My co-author had twice now included only area of clash and failed to include the Counter-Clash. I will make sure the proper photos get in next edition.

This coin is simply a Clash not a Counter-Clash
