I was at Laguna Seca raceway this weekend, running a motorcycle event, when one of the older riders handed me a baggy of coins and said, "I hear you like coins. These have always been in our family and represent birth dates and special occasions. I'm the last of my family, no wife, siblings or children. And these coins really mean nothing to me." I love surprises like this. A dozen or more Morgan and Peace dollars, all well circulated and only worth melt. An XF Liberty nickel, VG Barber dime, and a modern Canadian nickel and '72 Ike (huh?). But a few caught my eye (below). To bad about the deep scratches on the double eagle. But the CBH's are fun. An 1831 O.114 and 1832 O.110, both VF-ish. I sent the fella home with ten times more than he expected, along with a big grin. And I had fun with the dreck. Tomorrow they go to the B&M, except maybe the DE & CBH's. Lance.
They still look good. And having someone just giving you something you really like just brightens up a whole day.
He made it feel like a present. But who would allow that? I paid him a fair price which was much more than he expected. We both won. Lance.
LOL. It's a hoot. Lance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXN_tYK39oQ&feature=results_main&playnext=1&list=PLC003E0E683C38A4D
