    Weekend report:

I wasn't able to get any boxes of halves.....yikes! :(

I found about $15 of halves which yielded 2 40%ers
    1 box of dimes: Skunk

I also found in the trash next to the coin machine a 1958 Guatemala 5 Centavos coin (72% silver). :)

Best Lunch Break in a while

Stopped at my BoA to cash a check, buy a box of dimes and pick up a coin lock bag. All was good except the solid 2011 dime box they gave me. So I go across the street to a place where they always treat me real nice and hook me up with dime boxes. I ask to trade my 2011 box for a non-2011 box and they hooked me up no problem. While I'm chatting up the teller she tells me she has some CWR someone just brought in, so I take $50 just for fun and score a 1964 Roosie. She also is going on about how she had $120 in Kennedy Halves. I ask to see a roll and they are CWR. So I check my wallet and sure enough I have $120. She is telling me a guy brought them in and someone comes through the drive-thru once a month from out of town and usually buys them all up. Well, not this month because I got them and in the first roll there is a 40%! The teller even mentioned there will be something good in there for you. Weird. The other 11 rolls had 4 more 40%er's and even two in one roll.

    $50 in CWR Dimes - 1 x 1964 Roosie
    $120 in CWR Halves - 5 x 40%er's (1966, 1967, 1968, 2 x 1969)
$250 in BWR Dimes - Still waiting to be opened

I needed that, November has sucked for me so far.

I picked up 3 of my boxes of Halves that I didn't get to over the weekend:

    Box 1: 1 x 1949 Ben, and 8 x 40% Ken's
    Box 2: Skunk
    Box 3: Skunk

    Still happy with the results!

Anyone ever done business with a laundry mat? I hear that people find a lot of silver at car washes.

I once went to a nickel arcade in Milwaukee, OR and bought $85 and found 6 war nickels. I don't know if that helps much.

Thanks everyone for all the great information you provide on the site.

I've been CRH for about a month now. I started with a few rolls of nickels at a time and then worked up to a few boxes a week. I found quite an assortment of interesting coins searching nickels, dated V's, dated and dateless buffs, wars, and even a 1856 Denmark 1 Skilling Rigsmont. So after several boxes without a buffalo or v, I decided to move on up to dimes. I got my first two boxes today...

    Box 1 - 1 x 1964 roosie
    Box 2 - 1 x 1919 merc, and 1 x 1964 roosie

I dig the look of the mercs and I'm really happy to be able to find one! :) I guess I've got the dime bug now...

The box of dimes ended up having a 1943 Merc in the second roll, nothing after that but it capped off a great day of searching. I also found a 1965 dime that looked silver, no copper showing. It did not pass the drop test so I'm thinking it must be a lamination error. I tossed it back in the bag to be sent out and counted. Rinsing and hopefully repeating on lunch today.

Picked up $50 in dimes - Skunk
    1 half dollar - skunk
I did drop off a coin lock bag of halves and dimes to be counted and credited so there was a positive.

Sorry HOTN, never saw this post.

Boring day. $3,160 in halves, just one 40%er. I'm done with boxes of halves at this point, just tired of the skunks, not worth it for the occasional hit.

In my last $12k searched, I have 10 40%ers to show for it. Five of which were in one box. FML.
