Hey i have never sent in any coins to get graded. I just got 2 coins that i believe would be much more valued if graded. I was wondering where can i get world coins graded? Where would be the best place? What would be the price? How long would it take?

I have sent coins of the World to both PCGS and to NGC. They are both good IMO.

Can you tell us more about the two coins and maybe post a few photos? I can't recommend sending anything into a TPG without more information. Most of my world material is raw and I believe that most World coin collectors enjoy their coins raw.

    I would recommend NGC.

As Collect89 stated, you may also get some opinions from people about whether it's worth having the coins graded/slabbed if you posted pictures here. There are a lot of knowledgeable people here willing to offer sound advice. Look forward to seeing what you have!

I agree with you, most world coin collecters are or have raw collections.

This is very true. OP, why are you wishing to have them slabbed? Are you wishing to sell them in a vertain venue, do you wish the security, do you want to see if they are authentic, or are you just going to keep them in your collection?

There are a few reasons to slab, but many times its simply money being spent for no good reason. Many world collectors will not pay one cent more for a coin slabbed versus unslabbed. TPG is very much a US idea, an idea most other collectors have not embraced.

Last time I sent world coins to NGC it took 6 weeks at least to get them back. They have a shortage of world coin graders (at least they did - were advertising on their site for new ones). I have certain things graded, especially when I want the authenticity verified. Most of my coins are in 2x2s or loose.

    I could not agree more...

It is very much a US idea and some cases I have watched buyers and collectors break coins out of the slab to enter into an auction or for display at show.

But everyone has their reasons, its a personal preferrence I guess.

I concur I don't pay more for slabbed coins and have removed many coins from slabs since it is easier to display and store in airtite album.
