I only added one thing to my collection this year and it was a medal. @ToughCOINS found it and knew I would fall in love with it. He was right.
Looking back at this past year, I added many fantastic pieces to my collection (many more than even Catherine knows about…….. please don’t tell). I would have to say that this is the one that spent the most time on my nightstand after I bought it:
Belated reply @longshot - I like your Judaea Capta with its colorful cabinet toning. It’s a tad nicer than the one I had in my old Twelve Caesars collection a decade ago. (All I have left of it are these tiny photos.) I want another someday, maybe.
Out of all 8 coins that I picked up in 2022, this one sticks out the most for me. I have absolutely nothing else like it and it's (so far) the best portrait that I've seen for that particular Byzantine Emperor. "Ugly Beauty" describes it well for me.
