I feel bad for the person that buys it thinking it real, what a shame.

Really? That coin is so obviously fake, the seller has zero feedback, located in China... anyone who bids on this deserves what they get. Stupidity on the part of bidders is the reason why some of these sellers try to pass off obvious counterfeits as genuine.

It doesn't make it right does it? There are lots of new collectors out there who have no clue which leads to an ex coin collector. Yes they need to do their homework BUT being raped by a seller like this is still wrong IMO. Ebay should really step up and get rid of these loosers

You're correct. It doesn't make it right, and this auction probably will be pulled by eBay. A buyer is who bids on this coin is being raped voluntarily.

First of all woody, this thread is over eight months old (and the link would be expired anyway)... as far as your desire for a replica '09-s (or s-vdb), there are plenty of inexpensive copies on ebay; just go there and do a search in the replica section under U.S. coins.

  15. well we both are on an 18 month old blog

First you stated that unknowledegable buyers who bid on counterfeits deserve what they get - I strongly disagree with that. Then you make reference to "being raped voluntarily". That is a terrible analogy, as there is nothing voluntary about rape.

I agree Mark.. that was a bad choice of words. What I meant was that there is no one twisting your arm to place a bid on something you know little or nothing about. So my point is, if you don't know what you are bidding on, don't bid.

Now THAT, I strongly agree with. I just don't want to excuse dishonest sellers who take advantage of those who don't know better.

6 months after an auction ends the auction listing is removed from eBay servers.
