I just came across this while going through some coins i got from my mother. It appears to me to be a type b reverse. Tell me what you guys think.

Really? Nobody has anything to say? I would like some input whether or not this is a type B.

I don't think so I don't have anything of value to say :)

The question is, even if it's a type will it be worth more then melt? That coin has been around the block a time or two and not sure if it will carry a premium...someone with more knowledge will answer.

Get a proof set of that year and look at the Qt., that will give you the answer. In the Cherrypickers' Guide on page 152 has this.
    1. The "B" rev has the design strengthened, all elements are sharp. 2. The leaf at the arrow tips is strengthened, pointed, and rises slightly above the arrow tips. 3. The leaf below the left end of the arrow shafts is strengthened, and barely touches the shafts. 4. The tail feathers are sharp. and last 5. The "E" and "S" of STATES are well separated. So, look closer again, and decide.

"B" Reverse but could it be a circulated proof? I use the space between the "E" and "S" as a first look. Neat find. That is what makes our hobbie fun!

  7. It looks like a type B to me. Nice find. Congrats. TC

I agree with the others that it does appear to be a Type B reverse. However, it could also be a circulated proof quarter...hard to tell in this condition. Either way, it's a nice find.
