I sent these 5 into grade with NGC- What do you think the grading gods will say? I will post.

    MORGANS
These are scans through Kointains. I know they are not adequate compared to the great pictures I see and I am working on the pictures.
All three of the Morgans really don't show the toning very well IMHO as the operator of this "establishment."

    LINCOLNS
These Lincolns are scans through flips.I know they are not adequate compared to the great pictures I see and I am working on the pictures.

This looks more "red" in life.

    1914 D Lincoln Cent

IMHO this coin is a lot more Red/Brown in real life- Do you think that would grade B or R/B? Do you think that it is a "woody"?

Love to hear all of the comments- I learn from each one. Thanks.

It's really really hard to tell from those pictures but IMO I wouldn't send in any of those Morgans as I don't think they'd be worth sending in.
But I would send in that 14d Cent. I"m thinking a details grade on it if the "D" isn't added.

    Good luck with the Submission.

Why would you say details grade? Just curious. I'm not worried in the slightest about genuine mint mark.

Again the pictures are hard to go from but that 1914 has funny color and appears to have a possible cleaning on it in the past.

I think you are a very observant person. I'm not a trained observer but I think that is a possibility. I am hoping that it wasn't cleaned. The reverse looks better that the front- which does have some orange sheen. It looks more RB in life. To me it looks like a close call so I'm very interested to see the results. If it was cleaned it was probably done by my father I would say before 1960-64 and since then it was in an album.

I wish that I had better pictures of the Morgans- if somebody likes toned coins I tell you those are way toned- can't see the colors in these scans. You maybe right.

Agreed on the Morgans as it doesn't seem worth the cost to submit them.. As to the cents, I don't know enough to offer an opinion...

I can tell they are toned and I like them. Scanning a coin just destroys the color. I would love to see them taken with a camera. I like them because they look to just have honest toning and all genuine.

Thank you so much for recognizing toning as honest! I know there are many tricksters in the world but it kind of gets me bummed out when people think the toning is artificial when they are all just like they came of of the vault after 30 to 40 years! I mean I'm glad they say it because it helps educate me and if people have those questions I need to know that.

I am having them take pictures so I can post when I get them.

That reverse on the 1903 O is so striking "live" the picture no way gets close to the tone. I have a lot of toned coins in this collection and I do desparately need to learn to photograph them.

Say- one reason I am grading is to authenticate. To me there is no issue and I doubt very much the coin is anything but 100% because chances are 99% it was collected while still in circulation- but people that don't know- I can understand that. I have a couple more 14 D pennies as well and over time here I will post as I get them graded- When people raise the color I can understand that and I have concerns about improper cleaning- this would have been pre-65 - but I am not an expert and it's possible that it is not improperly cleaned. I have read this can be very hard to determine sometimes.

I hear ya...I'm just speculating as a reply to those that feel it's not quite what it seems.
Beyond that it's a rare piece to be had and have no guess otherwise...

Your pictures are hard to read, but the little I know of the dollars,
    84-O is not worth it
86-O I would guess gets a genuine and is probably not worth slabbing regardless
03-O might have a shot at AU, but I would guess genuine
09-S I like that one. I see nothing that says genuine, but the pic is so grainy I cannot tell if it is AU or MS
14-D get it certified, but I will guess genuine cleaned. A stab in the dark from your pics, but the face - struck through grease?

More pennies coming- two more 09S maybe I will get them up tonight in new thread. Another 14 D and the worst 09S-VDB ever!

I'd like to see photos of the Morgans as well, like others have said scans kill a coin image. I can't say natural or artificial tone based on the images. I guess we shall see what the graders say when returned....

I did order some pics from graders so I can post when I get them. I really need to learn to get photos- Ihe scans are so EASY and the photos so HARD- but I can't get a lot of feed back from the scans even though I keep tryong! Thanks for bearing wieth me.

Sounds accurate. The '14-D is still extremely desirable even having been lightly cleaned. They're getting tougher and tougher to find above a 'fine' grade. :)
