Here is a cool note I have had for a while. I really love the seated dollar depiction.

That is such a great note and I love the colorful vignettes on it as well. Thanks so much for sharing. I have to admit that I havde a great deal of admiration for these obsoletes, although I have decided to refrain from buying some as I focus on other aspects of my collection.

I have always liked obsoletes as well.

That is a very nice-looking note, Matt. I love the Obsoletes that have a depiction of coins on them. If you notice, most of them depict coins that match their denomination; i.e., a One Dollar note will have one Silver Dollar, a Two Dollar note will have two Silver Dollars, a Three Dollar note will have three Silver Dollars, a Five Dollar note will have five Silver Dollars, etc.

I noticed the bleed through from the ink of the bank officers signatures. I have heard that many old obsolete notes have that trait.

That's technically rust caused by the iron in the inks they used in the day. When that iron gets infected it expands, which would cause it to 'bleed through' something fierce.
