Could someone please describe the difference between type 1 and type 2 for the 1956 Franklin half dollar?
And is it just the reverse that is different?
    Thanks

On the type 2, the eagles wings are more pronounced. It is just on the reverse that they are different.

thank you. I have a 1956 cameo proof and I am trying to determine the type.

If it is a cameo, it is most likely a type 2. Cameos and Ultra Cameos are pretty rare on the type 1's. Can you post a pic of the reverse?

Again thanks Charlie for the info. As far as pics go, the camera, my computer and myself do not get along with each other. :headbang:
I used to be able to post pics with items for sale on ebay. I had a Kodak EZ share program but now it is deleted due to very slow startup time. Ebay won't take my pics, I think it has something to do with the three anti spyware programs and my Norton anti-virus setups.
