Of course, I speak of the Grover Cleveland coins due out in 2012, due to the fact that he served two non-consecutive terms as President. Do you guys think the Mint will issue two different designs? Or just mint the same design for both coin issues?
Maybe they should make a design of him facing left on one coin, and facing right on the other coin. And have the First Spouse ones do the same. That would be very interesting to me.
Well, I certainly hope that the Mint issues two different designs because otherwise that would just be plain boring – it would essentially be same coin with only the years in office being different.
These are the designs that Coin Update published last month: http://news.coinupdate.com/presidential-dollar-coin-release-dates-1016/ The actual coins may have a somewhat different appearance, but I don't think they will pick the very same design for both Cleveland coins ... Christian
They added a few wrinkles to the 24th one I believe. Mr. Cleveland has crows feet in the 2nd version.
Yes, there are slight differences between the two coins. Kinda interesting. Maybe there will be some errors. Stay tuned. TC
The treatment of the jacket and bowtie are different, the male pattern balding is a little more prominent on the second one and a bit more extensive.
Bullhockey Ridiculous. Even if you're a fan of US Presidents (which were never supposed to be on cash in the first place), or even Grover Cleveland in particular, does anyone not think: "What a waste"? Ugh…
At least he will be the only one. Two consecutive terms mean one issue only, so nobody except Grover Cleveland will be on two different presidential dollars. As for the designs, keep in mind that the images in that article show the designs that the Commission of Fine Arts (CFA) recommended. That is why I wrote the actual coins may look a little different.
