What do you read? What do you subscribe to? I've seen mention of several magazines and such and bought a few but I was wondering what the more knowledgable crowd around here turns to for good information.
I subscribe to CoinWorld. It has good articles and information. Its drawback is all of the crooked advertisers. Charlie
I read everything I can find on the subject of numismatics. I search the web about twice a week just looking for articles that I haven't seen before. I also subscribe every on-line numismatic newsletter I can find. There are even a few on-line coin magazines. You can find some of those - HERE For print publications I get Coin World & Numismatic News every week, World Coin News and Numismatist monthly. And I never stop looking for more books - always more books. And of course coin catalogs.
National Geographic, courtesy lifetime membership, 1987-????, Old Farmers Almanic, Mystery Writers Assn., Masonic Monthly, York Rite Monthly, Sports Afield, and OutDoor Life are my subscribed magazines. On top of those I periodicly buy the usual Numismatic Magazines. Take Care B
Anything and everything....I have boxes of ANA mag's and old Coin Worlds and such that I haven't gotten time to read all of them yet....hopefuly I'll get too soon! Speedy
As far as coins go, I read and subscribe to COINage. I find that I get some good articles out of there and it's cheap, so you can't beat it. I'm on an introductory offer right now that was less than $1 per issue. I also read books (currently reading "The Experts Guide to Collecting and Investing in Rare Coins" - Q. David Bowers), oh, and of course, Coin Talk! AnemicOak, how do you like The Celator? Roughly how long is each issue? Is it well put together?
I normally read whatever I can find on the internet. I read articles, posts or whatever on several different forums such as PCGS, NGC, etc. I print out anything that sounds interesting. I grab all coin magazines on the freebe tables at all the coin shows I go to and that is about 2 to 3 a month. I would never have a coin, gun, knife, collectables, etc type magazine or booklet delivered to my house. I live in a rather not to nice of a city where you can't trust anyone and that includes the post man or should say post person. I see different people delivering mail every day so just to play safe, no mail that gives away anything of value.
If we were all to start reading all the good articles that GDJMSP has posted here on this site, we wouldn't need to be looking for anymore material. Thanks to Doug, the forum has it's own great source of information that we could all take advantage of and prifit thereby. IMO:kewl:
