Arrrgh! Help! Newcomb Number for This Braided Hair Large Cent.

    Couple of dings here and there but otherwise I like it. It appears to be an 1846 Small date, head of 1844, Mature Head. Thanks for sharing kanga.

    I'll revisit the coin and look again.
    BTW, I'm using Grellman's book, The Die Varieties of United States Large Cents 1840-1857 to ID the variety.
    There 26 varieties of 1946 large cents listed in his book.
