I have a 2000 penny where the edge on top (from Liberty to we) looks like it was struck twice, so that there are clearly 2 rings going around. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I will try to post photos tomorrow.

    Kind regards,

    Rosalie

We'd need a photo, as your description corresponds to several different errors.

    Sounds like a collar clash.

Could be collar clash, a slight die misalignment, a ridge internal to the design rim created by die fatigue, finning of the rim, or an effect of die bounce. Like I say, there are quite a few possibilities. Only a photo, or a more precise description could allow us to tease apart these possibilities.
