As some of you regulars know,I collect the Spring flower series "selective gold plating" 50 cent pieces. This is the 5th year of the program started in 2002.The first was the tulip followed by the daffodil, easter lily, golden rose and this year, the boxed daisy, which arrived in my mailbox today. The main reason I like them besides their beauty,is that they have ridiculously low mintages, this year's being 23,000.Each one is numbered on the COA.I'm posting pics of the new daisy and also reposting the previous 4.
Mikjo, you never cease to surprise me with your collection. It's always something new, neat, and cool B
No doubt WhispTech will be out rushing to buy these things to add to his Canadian medal-coin collection. If he wants to buy these, that's his business. Aidan.
Aidan, Normally,I don't buy these things but, like US proofs, they are actually monetized 50 cent coins with Queen Elizabeth on the reverse and all.Technically you could spend them if you were foolish enough to do so and you found a merchant in Canada that would take them.On the other hand,I do have my limitations on what I will buy from the RCM and avoid stuff such as the hologram,Titanic privy mark and endangered ringtail woodchuck coins and all their other nonsense. It's all a matter of taste.
Those are nice looking coins Mik. Flowers that last. I like that idea.. Maybe its a good gift for a spuse and you can keep them safe for her in your collection? Hmmmm..
