Here is some pics of some more of the coins in this last purchase.. :thumb: :thumb: Howz about some thoughts on the grading.
I'd say they both AG, prolly not worth more than the silver content, the first one looks like its a filler coin, if you were putting together a set. The 2nd one you might start a junk silver pile like some of us and when silver (If) hits 18.00 send it off to the smelters! What else you got did you have a large purchase?
both in the just Good area. Not really worht a lot for value. That is why I never got to interested in that coin. Just one more of the well worn, to soft coins of our past.
or this one! Its an NGC PF69UC and it could be yours for only $35K BTW, I agree that they are good and AG respectively, I like them!
I realize that these two coins are in fact lowwwwwwwwww grade coins. But melt? Anyone check on the mintage stats of these two coins ? They are #2 and #3 rarest in the set. 1901-S BARBER QUARTER DOLLAR Mintage: Circulation strikes: 72,664 1913-S BARBER QUARTER DOLLAR Mintage: Circulation strikes: 40,000 I see the 01S on ebay, approx same condition with a buy it now of $3150.00 the 13S has a starting bid of $800.00 Scratching my head on some of these replies.
Ruben, 35K is $35,000.00... : ) I missed that too, had to read it a second time. Shoot, I was in line to buy!
Sorry about that, I was just being lazy, I should have written the whole thing out instead of abbreviating it, lol. Where is the 13S for sale? The reason that I ask is that I can't tell if the mintmark is correct, it's just too worn and the pic is too small. For a coin that valuable, I'd want it graded just to avoid getting an altered coin. or you could melt them down, lol btw, it's good to see you around Ruben, it's been a while.
The 1913-s is a altered coin. If it was a real 13-s the stars at 9 Oclock would be worn. The 13-s was struck weak at that spot and also the mint mark looks added.
