I feel like I need to go lower on this one. Not seeing the Blazing luster for a high grade.

I should comment, there is a slight bit of chatter in the field left of the mintmark. Otherwise a pretty clean coin.

Fascinating. I checked for a few P/P varieties but not a DDO. I don't think one even comes up for Variety Plus.

    I'm caught between 64 and 65. I'll go with MS-65 nice coin.

Happy for the FS, but I thought the grade was low. Maybe the above pictures aren't that good, but I've sent in similar war nickels to NGC that came back MS66-67.

That said, the number of 63-64 votes don't lie. Thank you all for participating.

65 5FS was my guess before the reveal...a bit too much chatter to go higher was my thought

There's something about coins not breaking into the gem category (65+) that can irk me, even if the price difference isn't that much. Unfortunately this wasn't the only nickel in the submission that fell short, I was posting this more or less to gauge myself.

It seems like NGC might be in a more conservative phase (especially with nickels). There were a few guess the grade threads from @Lehigh96 of NGC slabbed Jeffersons and quite a few graded lower than many of us expected.

I am late to the party, but I had guessed MS65. Since NGC gave it FS, the area I was concerned with in the first quadrant on the 5th step must be the photo.

As for the numerical grade, the obverse is MS66, but the reverse has a significant problem in the field above the dome and to the right of the mintmark. I thought that the premium gem obverse would carry the overall grade, but I completely understand NGC's decision to consider it grade limiting and not award a gem grade.
