One of the rarest of all Lincoln cents. I finally got my coin back from NGC. Too bad the knuckleheads missed putting the attribution on the holder. Nonetheless, I am pleased with the grade.
If you asked for the designation and they neglected to put it on the slab, they will re-slab it. If you didn't ask for the designation and pay extra for it...that is what they put on the slab. In any case...That's a very nice coin!! Have Fun, Bill
Sweet looking coin and nice grade. I can't (yes I can) believe they missed the attribution. Are you going to send it back for reholdering?
I would definetly reslab that coin i would want the designation on that coin especially that is a rare baby close AM ,and a beautiful coin Frankie from Brooklyn baby
Yea, my dealer submitted it and specifically put CLOSE AM on it. NGC just dropped the ball. He's going to call them next week and try to get it straightened out for me. The bad thing, I don't want to give it up now that I have it. LOL It took them almost 3 months to get it back to me the first time.
I've only ever heard of one being sold by ha.com. As I recall it was PF-67 and it went for about $950. So, should I decide to sell, I think this one would sell for a bit more than that.
I found one!! I actually was the founder of that error, found TWO of them!!! First one sold for $1100 and the second for $900. It makes me soooo proud to read that it is so rare and people want it!! Sure wish I would have kept 1 of them!!
I just picked up a 1999-S Close AM Proof 69. Of the three (1998, 1999, 2000 - Which one is the rarer - just curious?
Thats Bad Thad! *Congrats. Nice coin. I have one also, still encased in the mint packaging.Sending mine to PCGS though.
I think that's one of the prettiest pennies I've ever seen. It's also the first time I've actually been able to tell what a "close AM" looks like. Thank you for posting the photos!
