I started this thread earlier today:

Being that it was struck over a nickel, and reading from the 2011 Red Book: Those struck on coins of a different denomination that were previously struck normally are of much greater value.. Anyone have a clue as to a value of this coin?

You won't get different answers by posting two (or more) threads.

I wasn't looking for two (or more) answers. I just figured for values this might be the more appropriate place to put it, now that I have an idea of what I actually have after posting it in the error sub-forum.

    Sorry, missed that.

    Welcome to CT, Charles!

That double denomination is a nice pick up, too! Congrats!

Thank you for the welcome, and no harm done. I'm pretty excited about the pick up, still not a single one like it found yet. Debating on whether to join PCGS and submit myself, or submit through my local dealer.

No harm or insult was intended. Some times newbies will post numerous times because they are not happy with the answers they are receiving. Some actually argue that the knowledgeable folks here are wrong.

Your coin should definitely be graded! Judging from what I have learned here, PCGS is the best choice. Good luck, and let us know how the grading comes out.

It's off to PCGS, and Fred Weinberg. Still no one wanna take a stab at it's approximate value? So far I keep getting "Several Thousand Dollars", which is great, but my several and someone elses several may differ greatly. Several = 3? 5? 10? 50? (I can dream, can't I?)

It all depends on how many want it and how badly. If it goes up for auction..... who knows?

send it Ngc or Pcgs, but if I had it Pcgs is were I would have it graded.

I would guess in the $2,000-$3,500 range assuming it slabs in a mint state slab.
