I understand that there are quite a few varieties of this coin. It looks to have been cleaned and a little beat up but I like it and it has value. Perhaps once I know what it actually is, I can work out what it might be worth. At the top of the curl in the six there seems to be another digit poking out to the left, so that might be the 6 over 3 but as for other factors, obverse # and short bough, etc I'm a bit lost. Are you using Charlton's Standard Catalogue of Canadian Coins to identify the coin? If you don't have any of the Charlton books, then I would be glad to look it up in my copy(s). If you have the book, then I may not be of much additional help.
I just got the prices off the net but no, I don't have the book. George Manz opined that it might be a 6 over 6. Any help appreciated.
Well, having misunderstood the offers section on e-bay I sold the coin for $190 within 5 minutes of the thing going up for sale! I paid 38 euro's in Spain for it, so I still did well. So instead of spending the money on sensible things like school shoes for the kids, food or other 'luxuries' I bought a 2001 (D) Panda. Sweet.
