last digit 8 on the left side of the 8 the point of the seven is there, this is the point that points down, and the lower part is fatter then the rest any comments or thoughts? the edge is to worn to see anything any other clues would be app. thanks
If the bottom of the suspected "7" is protruding from the the lower left side of the last 8 and the top of the suspected "7" is from the top left of the upper loop of the 8, it is not 1888/7 S1. If this is not the area you are talking about, I would need a close up of the last 8. The true variety S-1 has the protruding "7" from the left bottom part of the 8 and the upper part of the 7 serif vertically from the upper left of the 8.The second such variety is the S-2, and it has a vertical bar in the upper loop of the last 8, and a "spike" part of an misplaced "1" protruding out of the front peal of the necklace, but these need very large magnification, and sometimes the wear on a coin makes it hard to determine. Welcome to the forum. Jim
if i blow up the pic 400% the one looks bigger and mispaced like it up to high, an the last eight has that point that looks like the start of the seven as if you were writing the number???
imo? this coin fake? thanks for your help .... not im asking about this coin that ive owned for 15 years, just found out about the coin overstamp looking up the coin, im not a collecter, i got this out of a vending machine game, agian whats fake/
I had a hard time being sure about the features you were describing as to location. Perhaps arrows of where you see the "7" features would help. With out them , the things I see as them says no. Maybe this will help for S-1. http://indiancent.wikispaces.com/1888+Snow-1 Jim
