I have a few slabbed Lincoln cents and I cant seem to figure this one out. It is in exceptional shape, color is almost full red with a few places where purple has started to show up. I can grade IHC's pretty well, but not Lincoln's. This is just as nice, if not nicer than many 65RD's I have seen.

If I were to get this slabbed, what do you think it might come back at? Thanks,

The pictures are a little exposed so it's hard to see the surfaces fully. Looks like little noise in the fields, spot on the reverse, MS64RD no problem.

I would gander a 65, but a lot of that depends on the luster in hand.

Sorry, there is no way to provide a meaningful grade guess from those mages. Among other things, I can't tell if the color is original, if it's RD vs. RB, or if the grade is 64, 65 or 66.

I agree. If I was forced to guess I'd say 65RD. Not sure it's worth slabbing. But it looks like a very nice VDB!

Sorry about the pics.....I just got a new camera and I am trying to figure out how to take good pics of coins. Thanks for the responses though. Im probably not going to send it off to be graded. It's current home is in a dansco album that is complete minus the s vdb and 22 no d.

If the color is original, I could see that as an MS65RD. But from the obverse photo the color looks a little off, could just be the photo though as the background colors in the obverse and reverse photos appear a little different.

Most of secret to a good picture is lighting. It makes a WORLD of difference. Also, make sure to calibrate your white balance and keep the camera lens parallel to the coin surface. You pics look like they have s slight angle.

I'm able to take my pictures free-hand with an old, cheap Canon 700IS and good light. Also, use NO image editing software. I know some do, but with proper light and camera settings, all the picture should need a simple resize for web use.

I also noticed your file size is over 200k. I adjust my image size to about 800x600 so my files are just under 100k. On most forums, this keeps their image uploader from resizing/downsizing automatically.......which can affect the picture quality adversely.

When I'm not being lazy I'll crop my pictures to the coin and make it about 750x750 which is always below the 100k cut-off. That definately helps too.

I agree with BadThad. The coin is very clean and even with the spots, the wheat ears are well defined and rounded. Beautiful coin RedRaider.
