WOW.. Going through a collection here and there were some 1984 quarters in it that had tape on them. I peeled the tape off going to put them in circulation, decided to clean the gooo off of them so I dropped them in the wifes jewelry cleaner. Forgot about them for a few days. Talk about some major toning. Anyone see people on ebay selling these "natural" toned coins before? The coins have alot of purple, green, and blue in them. I tried the scans but it dont show the colors. This really shocked me. I never dreamed that a cleaner would tone coins, I figured they would come out with no luster and no goooo.. Simply astounded here.

If course it would be moronic to do that with a valuable coin...

    That is pretty cool though.

I choose to believe you are only joking for my own peace of mind.

I don't think he said he was going to start mass producing and selling them on ebay.It was an accidental discovery like....penicillin.:smile

NO, I would never sell these as anything other than what they are. A Quarter. I was simply stating that now I see how certain sellers (NO NAMES) have so many of these fantastic toned coins for sale. I just wanted the gooo off of them is all. I really had no idea that they would do what they did.
