Here are 5 new coins I have. Numismat was kind enough to send these to me, so that I have some better world coins to look at and photograph. I am really happy with these, as they are all quite different from each other, and it also gave me the opportunity to look up the coins and learn something about them. I have not graded them, as my grading skills are not good. But that will come with time. Maybe someone with skills will help me with the grading.
France 100 francs 1954 This piece was minted in 1954 at 97,285,500 pieces. It is a fairly common piece. Judging from the pictures, I would grade the piece as a AU (almost uncirculated), based on the grading used in one of the French leading catalogues (Le Franc). Basically, all details look to be nice and sharp, without any wear on them. I do notice two small nicks (one below the eye, one in the 100), which can grade it to the downside of the AU-range.
I use both my Olympus IB and also the free downloaded PhotoScape to get the pics together. My biggest problem is I don't seem to catch the color of the coin (that I can see) properly in the photos. The PhotoScape is really a good enough program to edit the photos and then use their combine feature to get into one photo. Someone here at CT suggested this in another thread.
