I have had the best day! I had to go into the office (I normally work from home) so I hit a few new banks on the way home. I picked up some handfuls of rolls but nothing special. Then I got 4 CWRs from another bank. My purse was getting heavy so I decided to look at these rolls rather than put them in my purse. Imagine my surprise when the very first roll was solid silver! All 40%ers. Then the second roll had 4 more. 24. Then I went to another bank that didn't have any rolls but she had star notes. Lots of them. So I took all of them, plus the two old 50 dollar bills she had. I'm not sure if they're worth anything but I wanted them. Plus she had a 1974 $20 bill. I grabbed that too. THEN, at the grocery store, I asked if they had anything interesting. She went to the office and came back with a little box that had a 1964 Kennedy and two Ikes! and THEN, my husband came home with a box and we found 5 40%ers.

    Behold....

Vick, we've had a slow run lately. Today was a good day, but I had to go to a whole bunch of places to accomplish it. I had fun though. That's what counts.

Bank wrapped roll and customer wrapped roll. I've never gone to Chase, so I can't answer that for you.

I dont think that any bank is a decent source for silver, it's a hit and miss on what you will find from any bank.

    2 boxes of Halves - 2 Skunks
    3 in a row...

Other than my big box on Tuesday, I had 2 boxes with 1 - 40%er in them each, and 13 out of 16 Skunks. Blah!

Thanks for the info...when you say a box of halves...that must be bigger than a $10 roll. What does a box of halves cost?

I seem to keep just missing the big turn ins of silver dollars. At one of my dump banks today I asked if they had any old silver dollars and the teller tells me they had someone cash in 145 the other day. He then said they didn't last long and were bought up real quick! One of these days I will be at the right bank at the right time!

Did three more boxes of halves and another box of dimes:

1st box of halves: one '64
    2nd box of halves: skunk
    3rd box of halves: skunk

Box of dimes: a '63 roosie, '68 Canadian dime and a Russian 10 Koneek 10 piece.

I'm going to try to score some cwr halves tomorrow.

Went through the second box and got 3 40%'s and a 2002 ten peso, which is random because its alot smaller than half. So the total for two boxes of halves are 12 40%'s!

I guess I'm a "baby" roll-searcher. I don't have the money for half dollar boxes and such. But this thread got me curious so I went to the bank and got a couple nickel and penny rolls.

Found a 1940 nickel, but not much special. The rest of the nickels went in the nickel bin. (future junk nickel sales :) )
I found a 1974 AU penny (the year I was born)
    A nice BU 2011.
About 15 pennies of pre-1982 for my copper bin.

Not much from this "little purchase" but I can see that this is a fun game.

Chase Bank had no half dollar rolls, though :(

just decided to stack bullion a couple weeks ago which lead me to learn about coin roll searching. Just barely started and already so excited!! What a fun, free treasure hunt.

I've gone through about 30 rolls of CWR halves and 27 rolls of dimes so far. I've found 2 40% halves and 1 pre '64 dime.

Not much but more than enough to get me addicted! I'm getting my first box of halves from the bank Tue. Wish me luck!
