If it is hub doubling, it is not as common as machine doubling. Unfortunately I can't tell which type of doubling yours has.

    Hi,

This is definitely a doubled die. It is hub doubling, There are numerous doubled die varieties on 1964 and 1964 D Kennedys.
There is even a whopper of a tripled die variety. I cant say for sure which one this is, but it is without question a doubled die variety.
Charlie, and others, the easist thing to see on this, besides the nice grooves on the lettering are the "split serifs" on the U of TRUST.

    Have Fun,
    Bill

Phoenix...Your 64D doubled die looks like a 64D DDO-001. Check to see if it has the DDO-001 markers, die scratch through hair just below R of LIBERTY, or die scratch from upper left T of LIBERTY north to rim with shorter die scratch parallel and below it. You can find more information on other 64D doubled die at http://www.conecaonline.org/variety_listings.html.

    What are DDO-001 markers?

Markers are small features such as chips, scratches, distinctive polish marks etc that are unique to a particular die and which can be seen on every coin struck by that die. atrox001 posted four pictures of de markers for the DDO-001 die, two of which have arrows pointing at the specific feature. If your coin has those same features then it is DDO-001.
