to day is a sad day for me as today the FBI came to me on the day i got an e-mail from them here is what it said
    Mr. Martin:

Pursuant to Section 474 of Title 18, United States Code (U.S.C.), it a criminal felony to print, photograph, or in any other manner make or execute any engraving, photograph, print, or impression in the likeness of any obligation or other security of the United States, or any part thereof. The term "obligation or other security of the United States" as used in this criminal prohibition includes Federal Reserve notes and other paper currency of the United States.
    See 18 U.S.C. §8.
We hope that you will find this information useful. However, you should know that the Bureau of Engraving and Printing is not a law enforcement agency and is not authorized to provide the public with advice on how anti-counterfeiting laws may apply to a particular situation. In this regard, you may want to contact the United States Secret Service (http://www.secretservice.gov/money_illustrations.shtml), which has jurisdiction over violations involving the counterfeiting of United States obligations and securities. Because your inquiry pertains to the legality of a private business venture, you may also want to consult with private legal counsel to determine whether there are other laws that apply to your particular situation.

    Thank you,

    BEP

I don't quite understand what happened... Did the FBI send you an email explaining that it is forbidden to photograph "Federal Reserve notes and other paper currency of the United States"? Or did the FBI searched your house and take your computer? How did they find your location/address?

Did you contact FBI with questions about your food coupons/stamps?

What the........?? How could anybody sell any currency on ebay or any other auction site!? They'd have to arrest half this forum and a few hundred thousand ebay sellers and other forum members! Something's not adding up....

I can't quite understand what he is saying either.. and I wouldn't think the FBI would send email before coming to ones home to seize anything, they would simply arrive...

The guy's talkin' about "Food Stamps". The Feds take a dim view of anybody trying to sell these things on e-bay. Even if they are out of date.

If anyone's worried about the law, see here: http://www.secretservice.gov/money_illustrations.shtml
    Very straight forward.

To the OP, if the FBI raided your house and seized your computer, you shouldn't be discussing your open case on a public forum (especially admitting guilt).

I am not a lawyer, but I believe the code section USC 18 section 8, only defines securities.

Title 18: 474 does say that it is illegal to do digital/photo copying for fraudulent purposes ( paraphrased), but also in section B: at the end it says

    ( bold mine)

Evidently this is carried through by making the images available only in larger or smaller sizes ( and not resizeable) or in the case of stamp like securities with also a "slash" or line through the denomination. Stamp catalogs usually have the size different or the slash or both. The size is usually 3/4 or smaller or 1.5x or larger. Read the below URL:

I suspect English is not the OP's first language so we should give him the benefit of the doubt.
