Based on that pic I would have to say that I think the coin has been harshly cleaned. That changes the game completely.
I guess if it is cleaned then guess there would be no need sending it in for grade.. Just not sure if I have a good shot with this new camera.. But, you folks know more than I do at this point..
Well I'll be the first to admit that it's quite easy for pictures to hide things on a coin, or rather not allow you to see them - such as hairlines from a harsh cleaning. But in my experience it's pretty hard for a picture to show something that is simply not there - such as hairlines from a harsh cleaning. That said, it may still be worth a shot at having this coin graded. The TPGs are often forgiving with key and semi-key coins.
Guess maybe I will just send it in and see where it ends up.. true, TPGs are perhaps more forgiving of key and semi-key dates.. perhaps in a week or so will send it..
