I have seen quite a few in barely circulated condition, but also have seen more of them in BAD condition. Will keep an eye out, I need to write down a few key bills to look for. TO many different ones in my head!!!
This hobby does and will seem very complicated and overwelming when first attemping to get into it. Need not worry though, you will catch up and get the hang of things and some day soon it won't seem so complicated. There are very many really nice 2006 non colorized $5's. In matter of fact, I just had pulled some really nice ones out of circulation a few weeks ago, but I stashed them away seperate from my collection somewhere I was hoping I would forget about them and I wouldn't try to attempt to spend them. Well, I must have done a good job, because I am unable to locate them. When I do, I will post picrures of them. I do have a distrcit set going, as I was mentioning to you earlier on in this thread. The 'HI' $5's are far far more less common than the 'HG-B' blocks, or at least thats what I've come to figure when going through straps of $5's. I've seen plenty of 'HG-B' blocks but I've only seen one Minneapolis, and it was pretty crappy, but I kept it anyways waiting to upgrade next time I come across a Minneapolis 2006 $5 that is a little nicer. That is what I will do a lot of times. I will keep something, no matter the shape, and simply upgrade it when and if I find another example in nicer condition. I do this because this way I have all variety amungst my collection and not just all nice particular notes. Give me a few, it will pop back up in my head as to where I stashed my 2006 $5 non colorzied district set.
Found a couple of $5's and a $20. As usual let the $20 go on its way.<br><br><img src="http://www.cointalk.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=143776&stc=1" attachmentid="143776" alt="" id="vbattach_143776" class="previewthumb"><br><img src="http://www.cointalk.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=143777&stc=1" attachmentid="143777" alt="" id="vbattach_143777" class="previewthumb">
Pchitti, Are you a bank teller? I can't remember if it was you or someone else on here that was a bank teller. Well, actually there are quite a few bank tellers on here. -Travis
For me it helps to be older. In the 80s and 90s blue and red seals were downright common compared to now. I think the last red seal I have pulled from circulation must have been at least 10 years ago. Probably 15 for a blue seal. Great finds Pchitti. Takes alot of luck to find them today!
As late as the '90s?! I though they would have been pretty much wiped out by the early '80s and the only reason they are occasionally found here today is because people who collected them are having to spend them through this financial crisis...
Yep... the 90s. Ones ran out first, but Fives were pretty easy, and Twos were REALLY easy until maybe 10 years ago.
Thats the first 2006 $5 SF * I've heard anyone get. Funny enough, I was just wondering the other day where they all went. Nice find! As for the $1, it is not a keeper in my book, but thats JMO. 2 digit book ends are extemely common, from what I've come across so far. I'd say 3-dits and up are keepers. Happy hunting!
Thats a near solid note. These notes (following after complete solids) tend to be most popular/scarce when it comes to fancy serial numbers. To the right buyer, I'm sure you could gather up some premiums on it. It's a good think too that it is Atlanta with the extra 6's all over the bill. Nice find! I have several Atlanta $1 '06's with 6's all over like that, but none of mine are as extreme as yours. Oh, haha, I just realized, its Series 2006. Cool find!
NO camera at the moment. Here is what I have found in the last week or so. Have passed on multiple $100*, $50*, and $20*. Also a few fancy in the those denoms also. 2006 $1 F00704400 2004A $10 GB00193413* 2009 $1 F28402840C 2006 $1 F00243171* 2009 $1 B00590809* 2003A $1 J02405150* 2003A $5 FG00531796* 2003 $5 DL08466439* 2006 $ IF01061457* 2004A $20 GK01015426* Also grabbed a 1995 $5 D63170382A Just didnt have one of the small face yet.
Nice finds, and kudos on grabbing that 1995 $5. Small heads are getting to be pretty hard to find out in the wild. As for passing up the higher denom fancy's and stars, no worries. You can't save them all, and higher denom notes can be pretty hard to justify saving. I think you did quite well!
I do keep all the older style notes. You have some really nice finds their and keep up the good work. As always, happy hunting!
