There was this article in Coin World (Oct.31, p.23) http://www.nhicoins.com/2011/10/11/suspects-arrested/

    October 11, 2011
    Suspects Arrested
The Runnells County Sheriff’s Department in Texas has arrested four suspects for 1st Degree Felony Theft greater than $100,000 from an elderly person.

It looks like the coins were sold a number of times subsequently to frustrate the authorities and the paper trail. It looks like that isn't working.

It appears that the elderly man was an elderly woman. It will be interesting to find out if all four were participants or if some were just associates of the crook. there is a tendency to arrest all on the premises to obtain cooperation in building a case.

I saw that after posting, I don't know that it is relevant to the case. Law enforcement is hot and heavy in this case. I think I know which company is being referenced.

That's really messed up! That's down there with taking candy from a baby. Coin telemarketer, WTH is that? Nevermind.

It looks like there was no real company behind the fraud, only someone who knew about this lady's investments in gold coins and pretended to be a helpful advisor. It shouldn't be that difficult to connect the dots with the heat on, unless someone in the chain sold the coins for cash. Virtually every company issues invoices that makes transactions null and void if there are stolen items; fraud by its very nature makes a contract null and void.
