    Hi,
I have two silver coins to identify. Could anyone tell me what they are and roughly what they're worth?
    Thanks, Emily

The first one is simply a 1 oz silver round, a generic "coin" holding 1 troy ounce of silver. It has no numismatic value beyond the current price of silver, which, at the moment, is $33 and change per troy ounce.

I am unfamiliar with the second coin.

I believe that the second coin is Japanese from the shape of some of the characters, but I could be wrong on that.

No, it's Chinese, the so-called "fat man dollar" from 1914. Reproductions abound.

I figured out that the second is a fatman dollar, pretty sure it's silver too

Upon what are you basing your assertion with regard to the silver round?

    Really? How can you tell?

I don't know that the silver round is a fake, but the thought certainly crossed my mind especially when I saw the other piece.

You should weigh it; it should be 31.1 grams.
