1969-S Lincoln Strong LIBERTY Doubling, Genuine or Machine?

Hi, what is complex for me can hopefully be answered by this forum. I have a 1969-S Lincoln Memorial that exhibits very strong doubling on LIBERTY and lighter doubling on "IN G" of In God. The date and especially the mint mark are not doubled in any way. I am guessing this may be Class V doubling, Pivot at 4:00.

Would anyone know if this is a genuine DDO, or if its machine doubling, etc... Any help is much appreciated.

It appears to me to be Machine doubling rather than the result of a doubled die. The 69S is notorious for MMD, and always producing many excited finders. Minimum increase in value.

Welcome to the forum! There are other threads on the 69S, and you can find them by using the search space in the space next to the magnifier glass in the dark blue menu line above.

Thank for the Forum welcome and coin interpretation. I wasnt sure if the date & mint would always machine double prior to any lettering doubling.

definite machine doubling, or possibly die erosion

Machine doubling can vary in the amount of the face that shows the effect. Sometimes only a small amount on a small section of the face, and other times, the whole surface area, so proportion is not a good indicator, as often true doubled die coins can vary also. Here are some excellent resources and comparisons. Study these and you will know more than the average collector.
