Dated 1810. I have been looking through books and find coins similar but not the same face. Is it reall?? Any value if it is ??
Iam not one of the experts here but id say the hole in it took away its value. But on another note i read on a blog where there are some that collect holed coins. But i think the real value is gone and too bad beautiful coin.
Thank you . I think the coin is awseom. I think someone wore it on a necklace. Was hoping it would be worth even a few bucks.
Sure looks real. It's a Peruvian piece (determined by the mintmark). It's a slightly unusual type that only lasted three years. The hole doesn't help, certainly, and it makes the value really tough to determine. To be sure, there are some varieties of Spanish colonial coins that are far more common with holes than without, but I don't think this is one of them. The only one of these we've sold in auction was a VF-XF piece, without a hole, that brought $207.
thank you. I was not sure about it. I couldnt seem to find that particular face in any books i have or online. Not one exactly like it for that year. So i wasnt sure it was realy .Think i will have to take it to a local shop and have them test it.
