So last night at work turned out to be a fairly good night, i found a 1972 Eisenhower dollar, a 1976 Eisenhower dollar, 2 1982 Kennedy halves, 2 1983 Kennedy halves, a 1980 Susan b Anthony, a 1944 wheat, a 1941 nickel, and a 1935 silver certificate. I dont usually find this much in one night, its more along the lines of one or two wheaties. Then on to roll searching, this was my first time and i didnt have enough for a box of dimes so i got $100 worth. Out of all the rolls i ended up finding 1 1963 and 2 1950 Roosevelts. I think that was a good start to roll searching.
I`m telling you, the economy is bad. People start pulling coins and banknotes from old collections to buy groceries.
not telling me anything i dont already know. christmas is coming quick and with that so will the old/rare coins. And im fine with that because they will be added to my collection.
You mentioned you found the assorted coins at work. Do you look through the change you get from the bank or the coins the customers bring you?
Davidschwager, for the past few months i was just checking the change that customers brought in, now the last two times the guys came to fill the safe i checked everything they brought, but didnt find anything. TheNoost, i didnt really check, they were both in good condition so i just bought them and added them to my collection, what exactly should i be looking for? I know my gram has close to 100 or more kennedys of assorted years.
You would be looking for the missing designers initials on the reverse. I mean, not weak or faint, but totally gone. Then you have $
You aren't kidding, brother! I'm going to have to dip into my 500 rolls of Westward Journey nickels. Chris
