Looks to me like we will hit the big $20 mark. Classic pull back, and now it is going higher. I am glad I got my proof SAE's and I will buy my silver proof sets as soon as they come out. Is this price activity affecting anyone else's buying habits?

Yeah, I can say that prices have influenced my buying habits.

Several years ago, when silver was hovering around $4.50 an ounce, I started buying "junk" Walkers, Franklins, and Mercs. I also bought tubes of Silver Eagles, usually "common" dates rather than the more expensive years. I quit buying when the price of silver started to rise. Same with gold.

Who knows how high silver/gold will go? After this run up will it eventually fall in value to where it was 5 years ago? Maybe, maybe not. I do know that if silver goes to $30 an ounce I'll regret not having bought any more when it was at $10 because I thought it was too expensive.

And to think, in the years past, I was buying 1-5 oz. silver bars and rounds for $7-8 oz. And I actually got tired of buying. I'm glad I still have all of them.

I joined late in the game and in a small way. Someone told me to speculate in silver last winter.
So I've been buying the 1 oz. Silver Eagles. The first one was $12 then $13, then $14 and up.
Bought two 1990 silver maples for $30.
At a coin show last weekend there were some Silver Eagles for $14 and they were 2001 with nicks and scratches. Picking the best one, I paid $14.
I showed it to a silver buyer and he said he would pay $14. He sells for melt in Rhode Island and doesn't care what they look like. He went over and bought all the rest at $14.
Another table had 2006 1 0z. Silver Eagles for $15. They were in better shape so I got 2. If silver stays over $14 an ounce then I already am seeing a gain with my first coins.
