Question for you - what kind of slab was it ?

I think he's saying that he opened a slab without cracking it, and put another coin back in and sealed it. I read about this recently on another board. I think it's about the older slabs, from PCGS or NGC. Very troubling if it is possible to do this.

I read about it on another board too. But in that thread the poster was questioning a slab he had - saying it looked kinda funny to him like maybe that had been done.

But to the best of my knowledge - it is not possible to do this.

Every time I've opened a slab, it cracks apart, I don't see how anyone can get one open and resealed without it showing evidence of having been cracked.

Are you trying to admit that you altered a graded coin? Isn't that illegal?

I need to me get one of them thar prezision tools. If that slabbed coin had any value it is defunct now. Haven't seen a tool thin enough yet to crack a slab and not be detected. Maybe we can talk him into subitting a url for a picture. 8)
