Ok yall, I found a 1982 quarter with the word "LIBERTY" kind of bunched at the top and touching the edge, along with the date touching the edge at the bottom as well. Is this common, or possibly an error? Have I found an early retirement, or a piece of bubble gum? Lol any help, as always, would be greatly appr IMAG0634.jpg eciated!!

Bubble gum if your lucky. More like the free mints at a resturant...

I'm sure I'll be bugging the pure poop out of some of you, but hey, I'm "new to the game" and like my daddy always told me & I tell my kids...you never know until you ask! Hopefully one day I'll stumble across something valuable. But until I do, I'll continue to ask the experts of any questions I may have concerning coins I find that seem a bit odd to me. Thanks for the info, but free mints?? Surely I can buy a gumball!!

A lot of old pennies are like that. I'm sure someone here knows the technical name for it but no, its not worth a premium. And welcome to the forum!

I'm not sure what's going on there.

The date and LIBERTY are supposed to be pretty close to the rim on '82 quarters but this looks like it's a little too close. Perhaps the edge has been "spooned" (hammered in) a little. It's tough to tell from the picture.

How about this one, I saw a post from quite a while back where someone had a 1986 penny where the L in liberty is partially missing, & it actually spells "IIBERTY". They were told it was PMD, however, I too have a 1986 penny the exact same way, with iiberty. My penny is in great shape & shows no signs of wear. I'm positive this happened when the penny was made, & reading the other post I mentioned confirms it as well. Any ideas on potential worth, if any at all?

I have a 1982 quarter with the L and I missing from liberty and it's kind of sloped up where they should be
