Anybody know anything about this coin? It's not in the Std Catalog for 17th Century (or at least I can't find it) nor in the Unusual World Coins. Looks rather nice.
I checked MCsearch and MA-Shops. Neither list a Fugger 15 K for the year 1670. The years listed are '76 and '77. Interesting. Could be a very rare coin, OR an oversight in the catalogue. It would not be the first time one of the more obscure german state issues in not listed in the Std. Catalogue of World Coins. Ritter lists an 1676 and use another catalogue as reference. If the date does exist you may have to look in there. I think the coin looks OK, it evens has the curved planchet typical of issues of the period struck from Rolled stock (Walzenprägung).
Viewing the date again, closely, I think it is 1676 and not 1670. The top of the last 6 seems to have been cut very shallow and short so that it looks like a 0. See this 1676 from a previous auction: http://www.mcsearch.info/search.htm...n=1&de=1&fr=1&it=1&es=1&ol=1&sort=&c=&a=&l=#0 So it appears not to be an unpublished date, unfortunately.
Thanks Eduard, you're dead right, its 1676. My problem was I couldn't find the coin. I looked under Augsburg and Bavaria with no luck. But now I found the entry (unfortunately with no picture) under Fugger-Babenhausen, so I guess KM #31 is this coin.
