Hello, This is an article I found its funny Imo SUBURU NATICK MA "PLAY TO WIN" IS A BIG FRAUD They are a big Fraud. They made us drive all the way to Natick saying you either win 25000 or get 2 Gold coins as a consolation prize if you do not win. Obviously we didn't win but when we asked for the Gold coins the Guy said sure and gave us 2 coins of $1. What a shame. When we said they are not Gold coins he said miss they are Gold Color coins we colored them with gold color. Than I said you stated Gold Coins not Gold Color coins, his attitude was "This is what it is". They are selling cars and they think they can win Consumer hearts by making them fool and embarrassing them by giving them 2dollors. http://subaru-of-america.****edconsumer.com/suburu-natick-ma-play-to-win-is-a-big-fraud-20111018268959.html
You have to admit that you saw it coming, as I began to read your post I even naturally assumed "Golden Dollars".
Very true. I probably would have assumed this was what was going to happen. But I thin that is deceptive and wrong nonetheless.
they do that here too.... they didn't even give you a $1 scratch off lottery ticket to go with?!?! That's the REAL rip
Yes but did the Subaru ad call them golden dollars, or gold coins? Important difference. If they said you would receive two GOLD COINS, then you could have them on false advertising. If the said two GOLDEN COINS then they are just fine giving out the Sac, NA, or President dollars. Since the actual ad isn't shown we don't know what was promised or if they did anything wrong.
This reminds of the hooters waitress contest. The girl thought she won a "toyota", when it was actually a "toy Yoda". lol She looks happy! I also recall a radio contest where the winner received 100 grand! You guessed it! This was the prize:
This is what I said on another thread:

There is no contrast and/or difference. Perhaps, worker(s) from Subaru should give out dictionaries. The first sense of the word "golden": made of gold. The first sense of "gold" refers itself to the element. Furthermore, and with "gold" as adjective, "having the color of gold" is the third sense of the words "gold" and "golden".
I just copied this from the website the link didn't work They said gold coins so I think its the car companies fault Dan
Here is a close variation on the theme that I received last week: Notice the loose wording in the fine print stating: "Up to 500 Gold coins (Valued at $500)" with "Odds of winning Up to 500 Gold Coins 1:120,000", as if all 500 could be won by just one person or is that maybe $500 worth of AU in a small coin? Of course they are $1 each and either Sacajawea or Presidential dollars...duh! Still, they play this weasel word game as well as any modern day president trying to avoid perjury charges.
