Where can I find a birthday note for my grand son without searching through stacks of notes and what kind of premium do they bring? He was born 8/23/2011 I have him a type coin set, but wanted to find a note with his birthday on it. Denomination isn't important I just want to get him one. Any help would be appreciated.

My son's birthday is 8/23/2010. If someone finds a pack including a note for MKent, I will take the one before his. :)

I will keep out a look out for you, Kent. I will also look out for you too, lettow. Are you guys looking for specific conditions? Would they have to be brand new?

Would they maybe find such notes at the bank? Or am I off track?

Well, 05/21/1996 would key for me, if anyone ever comes across one with that birthday serial number. The only birthday note I have is 02/09/2009. Series 2006 $1 L02092009G. I'd say its F+ if anyone is looking out for that date...:)

I don't collect paper money, but can you search eBay for serial numbers? Other than that, the only thing I can think of would be to contact some of the larger dealers in paper money.

Taking a nice walk down to the bank and getting as much $1's (new or used) as you can is a great way of finding birthday notes, as it is for many other things. Especially when you can't really go wrong for face value. Even if I had an extra $1,000, I'd go down to the bank and grab all brand new $1's and see what special serial numbers, birthday notes, etc I could get. You have to imagine that after going through so many brand new $1's (especially if the whole pack of $1k is consecutive) you'd eventually have to come across something. Another good thing about going through a ton of brand new consecutive $1's is just by looking at the starting serial number of the pack, you will know if something down the line will be good or not. If you see a dollar bill on the front of the back that says: 'L55555501G', for an instance, you can take a good guess what you might find in that particular pack of $1's. To date, I have found 2 radars when looking at the beginning of a brand new pack. Just by seeing the start, you know eventually one will be a radar, or whatever it is you are looking for.
