Well, green18 and I talk baseball alot, and sometimes it spills over into coin related threads. Anyway, in one of them I mentioned that if the St. Louis Cardinals made it to the world series I might hold a world series related contest. And they just did. So here we go. Its pretty simple. The Cardinals are playing the Texas rangers. What I want people to do is predict who will win, and how many games it will take. Its a best of 7 series. So for example if you think the Rangers will just dominate and sweep the Cards, you would say "Rangers in game 4" Now, as a tie-breaker, i want you to also put in your prediction the final score of the final game. Which is probably pure luck. But go ahead and put your preidction for the final score, just in case of a tiebreaker if more than one person predict the winner and number of games correctly. The prize: well, I don't know what the prize will be. Nothing really awesome (I've had to do some car repairs this week) but I will promise silver to the winner. So predict who will win, and in how many games, and for the tiebreaker predict a score for the final game. THE DEADLINE: Is first pitch of the world series. Which I believe is wednesday night. All guesses after the first pitch of the world series will not count. Good luck.
Cardinals in 7, 4-2 with Carpenter the winner. I've been a Cardinals fan since 1956. Growing up in the Midwest, we had Cardinals games on the radio almost every night, but I was a determined Brooklyn Dodgers fan then. When the Dodgers moved to LA, I switched to the Cards .. I just couldn't root for a West Coast team.
Normally I'm an AL fan but the Tigers didn't get into the series this year so I'm switching over to the Cards. Heck, I never did like Texas (though I'm smart enough to know you don't mess with 'em). I predict Cards in 7 with final game 3-1 in favor of the red birds.......
being a cubs fan, i would like to see the rangers in 4, but i have a feeling the cards will take at least 1 in stl. so my prediction is rangers in 5, final score 7-2.
what makes it even worse is that my wife is a cards fan, so i have to rejoice in silence when i watch them get beat.
this is a great contest, baseball and coins!?!? Can't get much better than that. Cardinals in 6, final score of game 6: Cards 6 Rangers 4
